MAT 014 - Preparatory Course for Statistics |
Develops necessary intermediate algebraic skills and concepts for students to be successful in an introductory statistics course. Topics include graphing in the Cartesian coordinate system with particular stress on slope and graphing linear equations. Other topics include solving linear equations, creating and interpreting scatter plots, ratio and proportion, dimensional analysis, modeling real-world phenomena and problem-solving. NOTE: This course may not be used to fulfill degree or certificate requirements.
Prereq: MAT 095 (MAT 105) or MAT 095S or
satisfactory placement ; ENG 090 or satisfactory
placement or concurrent enrollment; ENG 094
or satisfactory placement.
